Meet your bike guide in central Amsterdam late in the morning around 12:00 pm. Before setting off you’ll receive a brief instruction from your guide on how to safely traverse Amsterdam’s busy traffic. After the instructions you’ll start your 15-mile (25-kilometer) bike ride to the outskirts of the city, the countryside and beyond. Along the way you’ll get plenty of opportunities for short breaks where your guide will also share his insights and interesting stories about the Dutch countryside and its culture.
Bike through Amsterdam’s many narrow streets, along the beautiful canals and across the coblestone bridges. Watch as the city disappears and is replaced by quiet green fields and waterways. Bike along picturesque paths on the outskirts of Amsterdam and see a different side of life in The Netherlands. Be on the lookout for funky and colourful houseboats, as well as people recreating in the water. Stop to snap some pictures of the historic Zwaan windmill and Riekermolen windmill, two of the only eight remaining truly authentic windmills in and around the city. Later in the afternoon you’ll arrive back in the centre of Amsterdam. Here you’ll turn in your bike and say goodbye to your friendly local guide.
